Our Work

Jobsite Delivery Management

Our Discovery

A general contractor client was experiencing pain with managing job site delivery requests. These requests were coming fast and frequent from their vendors providing materials and tools to the jobsite.

As you could imagine, constructing state-of-the-art buildings requires an immense amount of planning, however these jobsite requests were wreaking havoc on the timeline and schedules.

Key Challenges

  • Foremen were spending countless hours manually tracking of all
deliveries coming in for a specific day
  • Manual communications were being sent which were often missed or forgotten
  • There was no a single source of truth to view all deliveries which kept most workers guessing when things were coming to the site
  • Delivery trucks were showing up at the same time creating traffic delays and long wait times and forced to turn around at the gate

Our Results

Improved foreman productivity by reducing email communications

Decreased number of scheduling conflicts improving overall project timeline

Provided visibility of deliveries and crane schedules across all jobsite personnel

Our Solution

Our solution was to develop a custom tool on Azure and SharePoint where all suppliers could submit requests through a simple, smart delivery form, and managers had the ability to approve or decline requests. By utilizing a form, we were able to easily send automated notifications to requestors as well as jobsite personnel.

All requests are viewable through a central delivery calendar that displays detailed information and directions for the incoming deliveries. Additionally, foreman were able to schedule crane time through the tool, making the calendar for the jobsite a comprehensive schedule of all deliveries and crane time.

By creating this tool, jobsite productivity has improved as information is quickly in the hands of the correct jobsite team members.
